Faculty of Economics intends to enter the newly created Ural Federal University (UFU) as the Higher School of Economics and Management. Yesterday, February 2, this initiative was supported by the faculty representatives of the government and business of the Sverdlovsk region, included in its Board of Trustees.

Faculty of Economics shared experience in developing strategies for municipalities

At the end of December in Khabarovsk, a seminar-meeting of the leaders of monoprofile settlements of the Khabarovsk and Primorye regions was reviewed by representatives of the economic faculty of USU.
Head of the Department of Financial Management and Law E. Sinitsyn and director of the Center for Regional Economic Studies A. Shcherbinina provided experience in developing strategies for municipalities. The speaker underlined the basis of strategic planning and development of an integrated investment plan as the primary mechanism for implementing the strategy.

Successful debut of young marketers

Students of the Department of Economics held a presentation with honors on the International Theoretical and Practical Conference "Creative Marketing: today and the day after tomorrow" in Omsk State University in the beginning of December.
Students of the 4th course of the Department of Economics Anna Kuznecova and Aleksei Tihonyuk were granted Diplomas for the first place they've got during the work of the "Communications as elixir of life of the Company" group. Their presentation arouse a discussion on the topic of the Russian outdoor advertising market specifity.

Department of Economics of the Ural State University became a partner of the joint project of Russian School of Economics (RSE) and CITI Foundation to broad an outlook in the sphere of economics and finance between students. During 2010 school year the academic staff of the Department of Economics will start an optional lecture course, that'll help to manage personal accounting.

The winner of the competition - student of the 4th course of the Department of Economics Konstantin Egorov, the second-best Yulia Afonina - student of the Perm's department of HSE and the third winner Timur Sadykov of the Department of Economics were awarded by spokesman of the PricewaterhouseCoopers and the dean of the Department of Economics.
